Position Summary

The Communications Specialist will support the department by executing diverse duties involving internal and external corporate communications for STERIS. This individual is a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail and is able to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external audiences. 
 

What You Will Do

  • Support internal and external communications, including drafting content, handling appropriate review and approval processes, posting to corporate intranet or other online tools and archiving communications.
  • Foster internal relationships with key stakeholders including Human Resources, Marketing, Investor Relations, Finance and other departments.
  • Provide production coordination and multi-media support for creative design team.
  • Create and enforce process for managing digital asset management.
  • Manage distribution of internal communications/campaigns via third-party software.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up with relevant developments.
  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring production of high-quality and error-free copy.
  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.
     

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications support role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization/planning skills
  • Proven social media and networking expertise
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Highly computer literate with expertise in MS Office
