Position Summary

Join STERIS as a leading expert in sterile processing and gastrointestinal (GI) operations, delivering strategic guidance to customers and internal teams worldwide. This role drives operational excellence by leveraging deep industry knowledge, staying ahead of global regulatory standards, and promoting best practices in compliance, automation, and technology.

You’ll collaborate across multiple STERIS business units, engage with diverse customer segments, and represent STERIS at global industry events. Your insights will shape product development and market strategy, while your presence at customer sites will foster brand loyalty and operational success. This role will require nationwide travel up to 50%. 

What You Will Do as Vice President, Processing Optimization and Customer Success:

Customer and STERIS Operations Processing Optimization: 

  • Deliver expert consulting to national and international healthcare facilities to optimize sterile processing (SPD) and GI operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments including financial, operational, and strategic evaluations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with infection prevention, finance, clinical leadership, and supply chain teams to implement long-term operational strategies.
  • Design large-scale solutions aligned with STERIS business objectives and customer goals.
    Support internal STERIS teams with industry insights to enhance product performance, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes.
  • Partner with Strategic and Corporate Accounts to expand customer engagement and drive revenue growth.
    Act as a subject matter expert for the Reprocessing SPD sales team, supporting proposals, solution development, and customer confidence.
  • Lead multi-resource consulting engagements, manage budgets, and build executive-level partnerships.
  • Influence strategic decisions with hospital leadership, impacting financial outcomes ranging from $1M to $20M+.
  • Provide competitive insights to improve win rates for projects valued at $500K to $5M+.
  • Advise on contract negotiations and proposal development, ensuring favorable outcomes for both STERIS and customers.
  • Contribute to the development of consulting tools and support R&D with product and technology feedback.

Continued:

Industry Subject Matter Expert: 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global industry standards and regulatory requirements for sterile processing (SPD) and gastrointestinal (GI) environments.
  • Stay current on STERIS products, services, and emerging technologies including automation, robotics, and offsite reprocessing centers (ORCs).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in SPD practices, lean methodologies, and healthcare operations.
  • Represent STERIS at international, national, and regional industry events as a speaker and thought leader.
  • Publish articles, white papers, and social media content to promote STERIS expertise and market leadership.
  • Advise internal teams and executives on strategic customer initiatives, product gaps, and market opportunities.
  • Lead enterprise-level strategic studies and support transition planning for centralized and offsite reprocessing centers.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop tools and strategies for ORC implementation.
  • Participate in trade shows and professional organizations to stay informed and represent STERIS professionally.
  • Continuously research industry trends, process improvement strategies, and healthcare innovations to enhance consulting value.

What You Need to be Successful:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Biology, or related field. 
  • 20+ years of demonstrated success in healthcare or consulting.
  • 10+ years of management experience (marketing, corporate accounts, system project management).

Preferred: 

  • 3+ years of multi-level management.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience with STERIS or related company.
  • MBA preferred. 
  • Strong expertise in optimizing operations performance to improve financial, quaily, compliance, and strategic objectives.

Pay range for this opportunity is  $193,250-$251,250 . This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
