Position Summary

We are hiring for a Trainer Assessor in the London area, the remit of the role is to ensure all staff are appropriately trained and developed.

To plan, prepare, deliver, assess and evaluate training, encompassing all aspects of decontamination

and other subjects as necessary, providing ongoing support to help improve site quality

performance, compliance and production targets and ensure Health & Safety is adhered to

consistently. To carry a caseload of apprenticeship learners, provide suitable teaching and learning

opportunities for them to achieve their apprenticeship qualification.

 

To be considered for this role demonstrable occupational experience in a Sterile Service Department is required

Duties

The Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

• Conduct practical technical training in all aspects of decontamination in all areas of a site, taking into account all job roles and all shift patterns relating to work procedures.

• Carry out any other training task as required by the line manager or business.

• Working with the manager to ensure evaluation after delivery of induction training taking into consideration feedback, assessment outcomes, effectiveness and action required within

agreed timescales.

• Ensure that any assessment outcomes are achieved, monitored and carried out within SLA's

• Monitoring and Management of the Training Matrix and ensure that requirements are met in a timely manner and is kept up to date.

• Maintenance and regular updating of training records in line with the QMS and GDPR requirements.

• Carry out random checks regularly on trained employees to ensure that QMS procedures are being followed.

• To complete Training Reviews and Site Audits to determine procedure compliance and undertake a training needs analysis where requested.

• Monitor and review progress of individual employee and report routinely to RTM and unit

management.

• Liaise with unit management to resolve specific training needs that have been identified.

• Maintaining a safe and healthy training environment by following STERIS and other standards.

• Where required, assist employees to complete the management of basic Instrument E-Learning

ensuring that all current guidelines are followed consistently.

• Ensure unit specific defects are addressed in liaison with the RTM and General Manager

• Motivate learners to attain peak productivity, performance and compliance levels.

• Monitor and review progress of individual employee and report routinely to RTM and unit management.

• Ensure a safe environment, complying with all relevant legislation, regulations and STERIS policies and procedures.

• Plan and implement initial assessments and skills scans to assess baseline levels

• Deliver effective teaching and learning opportunities to ensure learner progression

• Maintain documentation on learners progress to measure impact of teaching and learning

• Monitor and support the learner and managers to provide effective 20% off the job learning opportunities to extend and consolidate the learning of new Knowledge, skills and behaviours

• Support learners to achieve their mathematics and English functional skills to the required level

• Effectively manage own diary to ensure that all learners have regular/timely visits to assure progression

• Organise and take part in 12 weekly, tripartite progress reviews with learner and Manager to monitor impact and progression

• To ensure own pedagogical CPD is maintained and up to date as well as sector updates.

• Provide strong communication to the learner’s manager and regularly update them on learners progress, highlighting any concerns early to be rectified.

• Prepare the learner consistently for their End Point Assessment by using a range of assessment methods and revising their learning throughout their learning journey

• Attend and take part in planned standardisation meetings and team meetings.

• Ensure retention of learners to achieve their full apprenticeship

• Work towards a suitable assessing qualification within the given timescale if not qualified

• Attend any mandatory training as required or set by your IQA or RTM

• Follow safe working practices and adhere to the Safeguarding policy and procedure at all times

• Any other assessment or apprenticeship duties as required

Education Degree

    Required Experience

    Level 2 qualification in decontamination or equivalent.

    Level 3 qualification in Education and Training or equivalent or be prepared to work towards and achieve.

    Level 3 qualification CAVA Certificate in assessing vocational achievement or be prepared to work towards and achieve

     Must have good standard of written, verbal & numeric ability at level 2 or equivalent

    ·Basic I.T. Skills.

    Skills

    • Have a sound understanding of job specific functions and tasks and the training requirements

    associated with these functions.

    Building strong relationships with stakeholders and internal customers

    • Attend local, regional and national meetings and required.

    • Be working towards and achieve a minimum of the Level 3 Education & Training Award
