  • To provide a high quality service for the collection and delivery of instrumentation within agreed time limits.
  • To be able to provide a high quality service, when required, for the cleaning, inspection, assembly and packing of sterile equipment for hospital and community settings.

To carefully load and unload sterilised product in identified containers, to drive company vehicles and to deliver to customer and return used product within agreed time limits and with due care and attention

To ensure all vehicles are clean and tidy and to carry out simple maintenance check prior to use to ensure vehicles are fit for purpose.  This will include oil, water, tyre and tyre pressure checks on a daily basis.  To report any accidents or damage to the Team Leader (Logistics) without delay.

To drive the company vehicle in a safe manner that demonstrates consideration to other road users and the Road Traffic Act.

To safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (driers, washers, sterilisers) effectively.

To load operate and carry out daily tests on product sterilisers.

To ensure that repaired instrument or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets.

To monitor and operate within Health and Safety guidelines.

To participate as an integral member of the sterile processing team and actively contributing to suggestions on innovation, continuous improvement and best practice.

To actively participate in staff development and training initiatives.

To actively participate in the Synergy Healthcare Performance Management System.

To undertake relevant training to carry out job role and comply with relevant legislation.

To undertake any other duties or tasks as reasonably required.

Required Experience

Educated to a good general standard, with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.


TVQ or NVQ Level 2 in Decontamination or equivalent experience.


Ability to carry out instructions accurately


Ability to follow procedures.


Ability to learn and understand the instruments and trays.


Ability to use own initiative and judgement when transporting instruments and trays.


Basic end user IT skills in order to operate the track and traceability (Trakstar) IT system.


Training in the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations


This role is a part-time position. The hours are 14:00 - 19:15, Monday to Friday.
