We are seeking a Systems Technician to join STERIS at our new purpose built Leicester facility.  You will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the site Operation and manufacturing, through the provision of effective operational software and systems, by ensuring system interfaces run smoothly to ensure no delay in despatching products for customer orders.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the operations system and processes to ensure the effective and efficient processing and the flow of data to financial and commercial systems.
  • Ensure that the operational data is cleansed and validated and checked weekly.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for responsible functions and support overall lean initiative for the site and cross site opportunities for efficiency. 
  • Support key KPI attainment and produce report for inventory management, on-time delivery, transportation costs and forecasting attainment.
  • Under direction from the Site lead and support project teams, to implement new, and update existing, systems for operations and successful Integration Projects.
  • Provide a consistent and approachable point of contact for stakeholders UK, EU and US for all System Projects. 
  • Test, document and train staff on internal operational processes and procedures relating to systems.
  • To provide the range of management tools and reports used to inform the business when necessary.

  • Document administrative policies, procedures and methods related to the operation of the systems.
  • Trouble shoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
  • Provide systems escalation support for all Departments on site.
  • Maintains professional control and works ethics under periods of intense stress and external pressures.
  • Prioritizes the Manufacturing project change and help requests, Overseeing the process and write Work Instructions to reflect new procedures.
  • To undertake additional system projects/duties as and when required by Steris US and other associated Steris legal entities.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years industry relevant systems for production/operations experience
  • Educated to a minimum A level standard or equivalent and /or be able to demonstrate working at this level.
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices and how these relate to the financial systems and controls
  • Working knowledge of operational system processes for example Oracle, Orderwise etc.
  • Knowledge and application of project management principles and practices
  • Highly computer literate across all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Resilient and adaptable.
  • To be able to demonstrate good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated team worker with flexible attitude and able to organise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate influencing and persuasiveness with other departments on implementing new systems.
