Position Summary

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales in healthcare facilities in Malaysia for STERIS IPT Capital and Consumables. The primary responsibility is to develop the business, build relationships, uncover needs of our Customers, and develop meaningful and valuable solutions. This is done by taking an agile approach to each and every opportunity and using strong market research and planning skills. The position focuses primarily on our Capital and Consumable portfolios within the Infection Prevention Technology business unit. This position is accountable for strategic planning, evaluating, marketing and implementing new and existing products. The position is accountable for management reporting, forecasting, budgeting and budget control. 


  1. Achieves revenue objectives for IPT Capital and Consumables
  2. Develops short and long-range goals and objectives that align with the strategic growth plans of STERIS.
  3. Manages promotion and education activities, clinical trial, training, and workshops in Malaysia.
  4. Oversees the creation of marketing and product management programs, processes, products and services oriented towards profitable future growth.
  5. Establishes and directly manages relations with KOL, societies and hospital managements and other critical client accounts.
  6. Monitors competitor’s activity and take necessary actions.
  7. Develops processes to identify new business concepts for future growth.
  8. Identifies leads and is responsible for new business initiatives.
  9. Plans and executes new product launches.
  10. Supports customers with technical assistance regarding application and use of products. 
  11. Replies to tenders, RFP and RFQ.
  12. Develops and manages forecasts and budgets that align with goals and objectives.
  13. Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change. Optimize the work process to improve the efficiency.
  14. Confers with Country Manager to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  15. Handle other duties and responsibilities as are periodically assigned or requested.

Required Experience

  • This position requires demonstrated ability to successfully lead the sales and marketing efforts in a medium to large company, a minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and marketing in Malaysia, in the Medical industry.
  • This position requires exceptional leadership, communication and planning skills and ability to implement change to positively affect results.
  • The position requires fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in Malay and Mandarin is an advantage.
  • The candidate must have hands-on experience with medical equipment. Strong sales, product management and project management experience.
  • The candidate must be very customer oriented and results driven, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in developing training and coordinating physician or customer events is an added advantage. The candidate must be able to demonstrate competence in multiple computer programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
