STERIS Malaysia is hiring a Senior HR Manager for our Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) Division at the Kuala Ketil site. Reporting into HR Director, AST EMEA & APAC, you will function as a Country HR Manager responsible for strategizing and planning all HR activities in alignment with STERIS HR Strategy in Malaysia.
You will lead a team of 2 Senior HR Generalists and work in collaboration with Senior HR Manager for Healthcare Division Asia. You support the management and workforce in their day to day needs of business operations related to manpower management – recruitment, training, performance management, counselling and advise, policy and statutory HR local requirement compliance, compensation and benefits, employee relations and to drive culture change suits to Code of Business Conduct, mission, vision and values of STERIS.
You collaborate with AST Management team in defining need of each site and contribute to the achievement of the overall Malaysia business objectives. Also, you will partner with individual manager and employee at various levels to provide human resources support and solutions across 6 sites in Kuala Ketil, Kulim, Batu Kawan, Rawang, Port Klang (Pulau Indah) and Bangi, with sterilization technologies including Ethylene Oxide (EO), Gamma, X-Ray and E-beam.
What You Will Do
General Management
- Lead the development and implementation of people strategies, collaborate with business departments, manage manpower planning and budgeting, and recommend policy changes to align with business goals.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Plan, manage, and lead organizational change processes to improve effectiveness across multiple sites.
Coaching for Managers
- Ensure adherence to Malaysia Employment Act, STERIS HR global policies, and manage employee relations/performance cases professionally.
- Provide guidance to managers on HR issues, conduct investigations, and recommend solutions.
- Promote the STERIS Code of Business Conduct and integrate cultural standards into HR practices and processes
Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Performance Management, and Compensation
- Talent Acquisition: Ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies, develop creative sourcing plans, guide managers on job descriptions, and manage hiring processes for managerial levels.
- Learning & Development: Develop and implement training programs, conduct training needs analysis, support career path development, and establish training systems and resources.
- Talent Management: Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning, support talent retention strategies, and implement talent development projects.
- Performance Management: Administer performance management processes, provide training and guidance, and facilitate objective alignment for managerial levels.
- Compensation & Benefits: Manage annual pay reviews, salary structures, and bonus payouts, and ensure compliance with corporate compensation policies.
Employee Communication and Employee Retention & Engagement
- Enhancing Team Effectiveness and Engagement: Proactively identify improvement opportunities, facilitate employee engagement surveys, and support managers in developing and implementing action plans to boost team performance and satisfaction.
- Reducing Turnover and Maintaining Positive Relations: Collaborate with line managers to analyze turnover causes and develop strategies to reduce it, while fostering positive employer-employee relationships through open communication and support in handling challenging situations.
HR Team Management & Development
- Task Management and Performance Monitoring: Schedule and assign tasks, follow up on results, develop performance targets, and ensure the Global Performance Management System is up to date.
- Team Development and Engagement: Manage recruitment, absence levels, and performance, provide training and development plans, initiate promotions, and enhance communication to boost employee engagement and motivation.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Significant years of HR experience with full function and adequate years of management experience.
- Prior experience in plant HR is essential.
- Familiarity with Malaysia Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, OSHA, EPF, SOCSO, and Inland Revenue Board regulations.
- Experience in handling labor disputes, conducting investigations, and negotiating termination of labor contracts.
- Proficient in recruitment processes, talent selection, and interview methods as well as total rewards and performance management.
- High energy, strong sense of urgency, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed environment.
- Proven leadership abilities and strong influencing skills.
- Fluent in both verbal and written English and Malay.
