Summary
Under the supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, The Team Lead will provide direction to assigned material handlers at the Distribution Center with overall responsibility for receiving, packaging, and shipping STERIS products.
What You'll do as a Team Lead
- Assist the Distribution Supervisor in providing direction to Material Handlers.
- Provide all necessary training to Material Handlers to ensure adherence to Company,
- department, and government policies and procedures.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by directing material handlers in conducting cycle counts and
- assisting in organizing and conducting physical inventories.
- Ensure employee safety and compliance of safety policies at all times.
- Ensure all material handling equipment is operating properly throughout the workday.
- When not directing material handlers, perform the duties of Material Handler including unloading,
- packing, loading trucks and recording transactions in accordance with Company procedures.
- Work professionally and effectively with other leads, the supervisor and employees regarding
- workflow, work schedules, communications and production matters to maintain a professional work
- environment and efficient operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 years of shipping and receiving or warehousing operations experience.
- Must be able to work effectively against deadlines and handle several tasks/projects simultaneously while meeting or exceeding performance standards.
- Ability to operate all PIT onsite; Reach truck, Order Picker, Stand-up forklift.
Preferred:
- One (1) year of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated leadership skills including, taking initiative, initiating change, promoting teamwork, championing ideas, taking appropriate risks, translating ideas into specific tasks gaining confidence and trust of others.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and react appropriately with shifting priorities and rapid change.
- Demonstrated effective communication with internal and external customers, leads and supervisor with the proven ability to show tact and diplomacy while dealing with others in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated high level of performance, professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
