Position Summary

Process and inspect all customer return goods for credit and technician excess inventory returns. Inspect all parts to the latest blueprints and use the required inspection tools to ensure the parts are within required tolerances. Enter customer credits in Oracle system. Some material handling requirements will be required.

This position sits directly in the DC warehouse in Returns area. 

Duties

1. Administer the return goods program for service parts that are returned to the Distribution Center. This includes, but is not limited to: verify quantities of shipments received to ensure conformity to quantities listed or shipping documents; examine returned parts from customers, inspect to determine if used, damages, or acceptable; enter Returned Material Authorization (RMA) into AS400 / Oracle databases, match customer to part number; verify quantity and part number; credit customer account in Oracle system if part is acceptable and transfer items to locations within the Distribution Center.

2. Read and interpret bills of material, blueprints, and other work instruction documents to inspect all incoming parts. This includes a working knowledge of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers etc. Work with the Quality Control Department to verify drawings and revisions.

3. Research and verify issued RMAs with the Customer Service, Quality Control, Service Engineering, and Purchasing departments to effectively disposition customer and technician part returns.

4. Relieve technician inventory by making the appropriate transactions in the Oracle MRB accounts for processing to distribution inventory or to scrap.

5. Interface with the Traffic Department in processing claims for parts that were damaged in shipment. Ensure appropriate credit is received from carrier.

6. Interface with the Purchasing Department to ensure all warranty returns are processed in a timely manner to ensure STERIS receives the appropriate credit from the vendor for all parts that failed under warranty.

7. Interface with the Service Engineering Department to ensure unidentified parts are properly identified to eliminate error.

8. Prepare parts for transferring to distribution inventory warehousing, this includes packaging and labeling with part identification and put away. Transfer of inventory within the Distribution Center (Sub Inventory) utilizing the Oracle system.

9. Unload equipment from the common carrier using pallet jacks; stand up forklifts, etc.

10. Shipping responsibilities include picking and packing of orders and utilizing the Clippership system for customer shipments.

11. Receiving responsibilities include unloading trucks, receiving material utilizing the AS400 and Oracle systems, labeling items and stocking material.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED in General Studies

Required Experience

1. One to three years of experience handling customer returns, inventory control, and warehouse procedures.

2. Ability to read blueprints (work instructions with visual) and have working knowledge of inspection tools, preferred.

3. Working knowledge of Oracle and AS400 systems preferred.

4. Strong computer, writing and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience

Forklift truck license and experience preferred.
