Position Summary
The Associate Manager, Distribution is responsible for the management of the Distribution Center during second shift operations. Ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective receiving, storage, and shipping of finished goods throughout the world. Ensure high levels of customer service by working with other warehouses, vendors, carriers, and STERIS’ Manufacturing and Customer Service groups. Maintain appropriate inventory record keeping and data management systems as needed to accommodate Corporate, Regulatory, and Governmental requirements.
Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
What You'll do as a Associate Manager, Distribution
- Responsible for the receipt, management, and shipment of finished goods to customers, distributors, and satellite warehouses globally. Provides the overall coordination of activities and directs these activities for the front-line supervisors and leads. Creates and/or authorizes all Standard Operating Procedures in the department. Ensures training is completed and remains up to date on these procedures.
- Support the Operations Manager on processes and activities for the DCs, which may include kitting activities.
- In line with ISO/FDA or other regulatory controls, provides and supervises the required record-keeping and data management systems. Provides input for warehouse designs and logistics.
- Maintains a safe working environment by instructing employees on established safety practices and enforcing these practices. Prepares monthly operational reports and audits the operation against current procedures. Serves on the site’s Central Safety Committee.
- Responsible for the proper operation of equipment, including the training and instruction on equipment use and the requisitioning of needed equipment, material, and maintenance. Ensures all equipment is maintained in their proper working condition.
- Assists Operations Manager as the department’s liaison with the Environmental, Health and Safety, and other internal and external agencies/groups. Supports and follows corporate security measures for the facility, products, and human resources.
- Establishes, maintains, and promotes good relations with employees while also maintaining productivity, attendance, and general order required for the efficient operation of the Distribution Centers.
- Ensure that the distribution facilities are properly staffed and equipped in order to select and receive products at the facilities in a production and cost-efficient manner.
Supports the development of departmental budgets, expenditures, and site management. Summarize and monitor key performance measures and develop an action plan as necessary. - Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for the Distribution & Logistics group for WMS, Ship Console, and other operating systems.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Associate Degree; High School Diploma or GED, and 5 Supervisory years experience in warehousing, domestic transportation, shipping/receiving, and other operations/supply chain, and 7 years of relevant warehouse/distribution experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years’ experience in warehousing, domestic transportation, shipping/receiving or other operations/supply chain function.
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge of computerized warehouse systems and UN/DOT shipping regulations for domestic and international shipments is required.
Preferred:
- FDA-controlled facility experience.
- 2-3 years of Lean experience.
- Experience with handling, storing, and shipping hazardous materials.
- Project management experience.
Other:
- Must be able to communicate with various levels of the organization in a clear, efficient and effective manner.

Pay range for this opportunity is $78,200.00 - $101,200.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
