Position Summary

STERIS ANZ is seeking a System Performance Engineer I to support the delivery of our sterilization monitoring and control solutions across the full product lifecycle. This role is integral to ensuring our systems are thoroughly tested, configured, commissioned, and maintained to the highest quality and compliance standards.

In this role, you will support the verification and validation of new products and product enhancements, ensuring successful deployment at customer facilities. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to deliver reliable, compliant solutions that support safe and effective healthcare outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the testing, configuration, and commissioning of sterilization monitoring and control systems at STERIS ANZ customer sites
  • Assist with system verification and validation activities for new products and product updates, in line with internal quality and compliance requirements
  • Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Work closely with Applications, Controls Development, and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering teams to support system integration and performance
  • Support on‑site installation activities, including system checks, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of validation documentation and commissioning reports
  • Provide post‑deployment technical support in accordance with customer service level agreements
  • Accurately document configurations, test results, and changes throughout the system lifecycle
  • Escalate technical issues appropriately and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to STERIS quality, safety, and regulatory requirements at all times

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Software, or related discipline), or final‑year student
  • 1–3 years’ experience in systems engineering, commissioning, controls, automation, or a related technical role (graduates with relevant internships or project experience are encouraged to apply)
  • Practical exposure to system testing, commissioning, automation, controls, or software through university projects, internships, or entry‑level roles
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and work within quality and compliance requirements
  • Interest in regulated environments such as healthcare, medical devices, or industrial systems
  • Basic technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skillsClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document work accuratelyComfortable working as part of a cross‑functional team and engaging with customers under guidance
