Position Summary

Due to company growth, and a recent expansion direct to market model in Australia, STERIS is now looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead, inspire and support a dedicated team of Territory Managers in our Infection Prevention Central Sterilising Department (CSD) portfolio. The CSD portfolio offers Customers a unique mix of innovative capital equipment and consumable products, such as sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, ultrasonics, cleaning chemistries and more.

Key Duties

  • Provide leadership, management, tactical support, and sales-related coaching and development to the Sales Team.
  • Achieve maximum portfolio growth, profitability and Customer engagement across Australia.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales, and the Marketing Team, to develop the annual strategic plan, and implement aligned strategies amongst the Sales Team.
  • Positively influence a supportive team environment, culture and network where resources and knowledge are shared to build a high level of expertise and motivation.

Specific Requirements

  1. Higher degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent.
  2. Min 5 years of experience in medical device industry.
  3. Proven track record of building, managing, and coaching a sales team.
  4. Must have knowledge of navigating the buying process within large, private and public hospital groups
  5. Strong network of physicians, nurses, and purchasing departments within assigned portfolio market.
  6. Valid driver’s license.
  7. Ability to travel with sales reps 70-80% of the time.
  8. Ability to travel abroad for meeting attendance if/as required
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  10. Competent in multiple software applications, including Microsoft Office, Corporate CRM and ERP
