Job Title:  Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

This role is a position within the engineering team based at the STERIS Galway laboratory. The site provides testing and technical services to the medical device and pharma industries.

Duties

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead the equipment maintenance team, focusing on test equipment reliability
• Responsible for the installation and upkeep of laboratory test equipment and associated services
• Undertake debug and fault-finding activities of mechanical and electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems
• Lease with laboratory teams and equipment suppliers to identify new test equipment
• Develop equipment maintenance, calibration, and operating instructions
• Drive equipment improvement and modernisation projects

Knowledge:

• Heating, refrigeration, or similar control system experience
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings e.g., electrical / pneumatic diagrams, machine specs
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to lead a team

Required Experience

• Minimum 3rd level engineering degree or equivalent
• Working in a regulated environment: minimum 5 years
• CAD, Project Planning and laboratory experience an advantage
