Job Title:  Technician II

Position Summary

IMS Technicians- Device Repair perform surgical instrument and device inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a lab-based setting. This role delivers superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards in a production facility as part of a high-performing team. 

Duties

1. Abides by all Company safety, health policies, and procedures. Uses personal protective equipment, as required.
2. Completes Safety observations per site requirements. Services, restores and repairs surgical devices/instruments and equipment to specifications.
3. Identifies problems within the job role and uses standardized and varied testing procedures; examines and tests mechanisms for defects.
4. Replaces or repairs defective parts. 
5. Reassembles surgical devices or equipment and tests assembly for conformance to specifications.
6. Orders routine repair parts. 
7. Request parts from stock room. Trouble-shoots in area of surgical device/instrument responsibility of role.
8. Participates in the development of setting standard work instruction (SWI's). 
9. Participates in repair to inform validation of work instruction. 
10. May perform inventory transactions in current role. 
11. May perform estimation of repair, as necessary. 
12. May train other technicians in On-The-Job Training programs. 
13. Conforms to Company ISO goals and objectives and supports ISO requirements. 
14. Completes workplace (5S) organization audits per site requirements and leads the Metrics Board Meetings that focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). 
15. All other duties assigned.

Education Degree

Required Experience

• 3 years' experience in maintenance, assembly, or related aptitude.
• 1 year of experience in surgical devices or instruments required.

8. If parts are controlled by inventory numbers, the technician knows and understands parts requisition procedures necessary for repairs in role.
9. Demonstrates awareness of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC) Metrics board and follows standard practices to implement well defined solutions.
10. Demonstrates awareness of costs and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
11. In current role, is expanding learning in repairs, processes, and other relevant information to the role, such as, standard instructions (SWIs), estimation, inventory/requisitions, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) Metrics. 
12. Expected to be able to work well with others in a team environment and support positive Customer interactions when onsite.
