Position Summary

Responsible for receiving and shipping medical instruments, devices, component parts and miscellaneous items into and from the repair facility by performing the following duties.  This position may have responsibility for the disinfection control process of medical instruments/devices received. 

Duties

  1. Unpacks, identifies, examines and sorts incoming medical instruments, components and miscellaneous items.
  2. Compares identifying information of incoming instruments to verify Sales/Purchase Orders, invoices, packing lists and/or other records.
  3. Ensures the accuracy of shipping documents and verifying receiving instruments with SRN’s and other documents.
  4. Maintains inventory of disinfection shipping materials and supplies.
  5. Performs the disinfection process for the medical instruments, component parts and miscellaneous items into and from the repair facility.
  6. Routes medical instruments, component parts and miscellaneous items to proper repair location or final destination.
  7. Places instruments in protective material and counts contents of all Sales/Purchase Orders prior to packing, checks model and serial number.
  8. Packs outgoing medical instruments, component parts and miscellaneous items and prepares shipping labels through use of overnight currier services such as FedEx, UPS, etc.
  9. Communicates problems, discrepancies, etc. with supervisors, technicians, and customer service.
  10. Maintains receiving/shipping area in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
  11. Performs filing, photocopying and collating duties.

Education Degree

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  1. 1-2 years of work experience. 

  2. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have MS Office experience, computer skills and data entry skills. 

  3. Must have the ability to multi-task. 

  4. Must be able to conceptually understand the various shipping processes. 

  5. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to details of the shipping/receiving requirements.
