The hourly pay rate for the Laboratory Assistant II position is $16.00. Annual merit bonus and incentive plans are also offered. This position works a 1st shift and offers overtime potential based on business needs.

  

What you will do with us:

  •  Receives, sorts, and logs in samples for testing.
  • Distributes samples to appropriate testing areas. 
  • Generates, reviews and/or maintains as appropriate outbound logs, records, filing system, laboratory testing datasheets, reports, shipping forms for return samples, receipts, Biological Indicator and supply purchases. 
    •  Performs data entry using Computer software.
    •     Logs in consumables. 
    •     Performs record cleaning and keeping tasks. 
  • Interfaces with couriers professionally and courteously. 
  • Processes Biological Indicator sales to Customers, providing product pull and shipment. 
  • Packages environmental monitoring plates for shipment to Customers. 
  • Monitors inventory of supplies for Laboratory sales. 
  • Trains others in the performance of Laboratory receiving and/or reporting. 
  • Contributes in a team effort by performing in accordance to all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Take part in on-the-job training, overseen by your Hiring Manager
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the requirements of the job

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of basic clerical equipment and processes. 
  • Skill in written and oral communication. 
  • Skill in performing basic computer operations using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skill in organizing, planning, and prioritizing tasks. 
  • Skill in solving basic task-related problems.
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Skill in prioritizing the adherence to safety protocol at all times and monitoring self and environment for potential hazards.
  • Ability to interface professionally by phone or in person with Customers, employees and visitors. 
  • Ability to perform data entry using keyboarding, and 10 key speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment that requires strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend rules, schedules, procedures, and instructions. 
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements or work environment. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment to support the work of others. 
  • Ability to work autonomously.
