Job Title:  Production Packager I

Position Summary

The Production Packager is responsible for performing packaging and assembly operations in a fast-paced, self-driven production environment while meeting the production output, safety, and quality compliance requirements of the Production department. 

Duties

1. Using both manual and automated methods, perform various packaging and assembly operations according to safety standards, quality standards, and production needs.
2. Access and follow standard operating procedures(SOP) and/or work instructions required to complete manufacturing orders, and ensure manufacturing orders are completed properly.
3. Verify item number, description, lot codes, and expiration dates on label according to the SOP and/or work instructions.
4. Accurately document information to track production quantities, lot numbers, rejected parts, and final raw material quantity.
5. Recognize nonconforming material and initiate any action necessary to prevent or correct the nonconformity.
6. Restock basic supply materials as needed.
7. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of processes and/or steps leading to the accomplishment of results.
8. Understand and comply with company quality system processes with an understand of the impact the position has on both the customer and quality.
9. Identify and appropriately escalate needs for equipment maintenance.
10. Participate in Lean processes, including but not limited to, updating hour by hour boards, tracking production data, leading 5S audits, and using basic lean tools.
11. Always ensure safe operation by wearing proper PPE, reporting and/or correcting safety concerns, and look for ways to improve quality, safety, and efficiency to support continuous improvement.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Degree

Required Experience

• 1+ years experience working in an assembly, packaging, chemical, manufacturing or relevant fast-paced environment
• Experience in medical device or other regulated industry preferred
• Experience in material handling with powered equipment (pallet jack, WAV, etc.)
