Position Summary
The Production Packager is responsible for performing packaging and assembly operations in a fast-paced, self-driven production environment while meeting the production output, safety, and quality compliance requirements of the Production department.
Duties
- Using both manual and automated methods, perform various packaging and assembly operations according to safety standards, quality standards, and production needs.
- Access and follow standard operating procedures(SOP) and/or work instructions required to complete manufacturing orders, and ensure manufacturing orders are completed properly.
- Verify item number, description, lot codes, and expiration dates on label according to the SOP and/or work instructions.
- Accurately document information to track production quantities, lot numbers, rejected parts, and final raw material quantity.
- Recognize nonconforming material and initiate any action necessary to prevent or correct the nonconformity.
- Restock basic supply materials as needed.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of processes and/or steps leading to the accomplishment of results.
- Understand and comply with company quality system processes with an understand of the impact the position has on both the customer and quality.
- Identify and appropriately escalate needs for equipment maintenance.
- Participate in Lean processes, including but not limited to, updating hour by hour boards, tracking production data, leading 5S audits, and using basic lean tools.
- Always ensure safe operation by wearing proper PPE, reporting and/or correcting safety concerns, and look for ways to improve quality, safety, and efficiency to support continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Degree
Required Experience
- 1+ years experience working in an assembly, packaging, chemical, manufacturing or relevant fast-paced environment
- Experience in medical device or other regulated industry preferred
- Experience in material handling with powered equipment (pallet jack, WAV, etc.)
