Position Summary

Following proper material handling procedures, the Material Handler maintains raw and/or finished inventory as assigned, ensuring inventory integrity, space management of product storage and cross-functional collaboration to support problem solving.



  • Proficient with use of handheld WMS functions required for picking, inventory look-up, stocking and other assigned tasks.
  • Proficient use of required power equipment for picking and stocking including a WAV, pallet stacker, and electric power jack.
  • Follow operating procedures to efficiently complete stocking of finished goods into pick locations and overstock maintaining accurate product traceability and location accuracy.
  • Respond quickly to product replenishment requests made by Order Fulfillment Specialists
  • Maintain and organize inventory in Finished goods warehouse to maximize space for new incoming goods, including consolidation of pallet quantities.
  • Maintain and organize warehouse supplies through stocking, consolidation, and storage of materials and bins.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and fix discrepancies as needed, providing feedback to Production and Warehouse leadership on process adherence by others.
  • Prepare and load pallets for ground shipments.
  • Loading and unloading offsite trucks ensuring inventory is processed to the correct site
  • Effectively load, block, and brace trucks/containers to ensure minimal product movement or damage during transport.
  • Trained as backup for loading LTL Carriers ensuring paperwork is accurately completed and retained.

  • Proficient in picking and shipping domestic ground Customer and internal Customer orders using applicable hardware/software.
  • Proficient in picking domestic LTL/FTL Customer orders.  Able to prepare pallets for shipment (wrap, weights, dims).
  • Proficient with various shipping systems & software (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Follow documented processes and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of processes and/or steps leading to the accomplishment of results.
  • Able to assist and work with cross-functional teams (Receiving and Production) on assigned tasks.
  • Understand and comply with company quality system processes with an understand of the impact the position has on both the customer and quality
  • Recognize nonconforming material and initiate any action necessary to prevent or correct the nonconformity
  • Identify need for equipment maintenance, and complete work request for the maintenance.
  • Complete cleaning routines to maintain a safe and efficient warehouse environment
  • Participate in Lean processes, including but not limited to, updating hour by hour boards, tracking data, leading 5S audits, and using basic lean tools.
  • Always ensure safe operation by reporting and/or correcting safety concerns, and look for ways to improve quality, safety, and efficiency to support continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • 2 years working experience accepted in lieu of education
  • 1 year experience working in assembly, packaging, chemical, manufacturing, or relevant face paced environment

Preferred Experience

  • 1 year experience working in a Key Surgical/STERIS or other FDA regulated/ISO certified assembly, packaging, chemical, manufacturing, or relevant fast paced environment preferred.
  • 1 year material handling experience preferred (i.e., powered equipment, WAV, pallet jack)


  • Ability to read and understand instructions, diagrams, and quality check sheets
  • Ability to interpret and follow written procedures to ensure product and packaging meets required specifications
  • Detail oriented with ability to identify items against specifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities while staying focused on achieving goals related to safety, quality, and delivery/customer needs
  • Able to run manual and powered pallet lift and restock materials as needed
  • Promote cooperation and commitment within a team environment
  • Ability to work well with others and use good interpersonal skills
