Position Summary

Support STERIS’ Mobile SPD units in the field. At STERIS,  This is a Nationwide Travel Position, with the expectation to travel 75% or more of the time.

 Responsible for

  • completing installation
  • quarterly preventative maintenance
  •  commission and decommission events in accordance with Customer needs and specifications
  • Tasks include project planning, scheduling, delivery coordination, performing technical installations, and directing subcontractors and other resources as required
  • Work in a matrix environment, providing direction to non-direct reports within and external to STERIS and taking direction from multiple managers.  

Duties

New and Relocation Installations (90%)

  1. Complete pre-installation audit of hospital utilities to ensure successful set up and implementation
    1. Complete service documentation associated with installation activity
    2. Ensure delivered equipment meets customer request.
  2. Commissioning - Setup, level, expand the multimillion-dollar STERIS Mobile SPD which is a full Sterile Processing department on a 1 to 3 expandable 53-foot tractor trailer.  Includes making all internal mechanical, electrical and plumbing connections along with loading all ancillary equipment such as sinks, prep and pack stations, transport carts, and manifolds.
    1. Directs all onsite trade workers (Drivers, Mechanics, Electricians, Plumbers, General Contractors), to make all final connections from facility or source.
    2. Performs in-services on operations of the Mobile SPD
    3. Obtains client signatures for turnover and operations when commissioning is complete and files with the Project Manager.
  3. Maintain Mobile unit while at an account, including field upgrades, modifications, preventative maintenance, installations, testing and balancing, ad hoc support, and Customer requests
  4. Manages the Customer relationship while the unit is deployed, acting as Customer liaison and holding regular meetings for the progress reporting.

Duties - cont'd

  1. Performs Quarterly and Annual maintenance activities for deployed mobile units across North America
  2.     2. Obtains client signatures for final inspection when complete and files with the Project Manager.

Administrative and Documentation Responsibilities (10%)

  1. Responsible for Asset Management of all STERIS assigned equipment.
  2. Purchase and maintain inventory needed to support Mobile SPD.
  3. Maintain accurate records in Siebel for all work performed
  4. Close out documentation by completing any Mobile SPD related service requests applied to the units

 

 

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  1. 5-8 Years technical service experience, preferably with medical equipment.
  2. Completion of mechanical, electrical, or electronic technical school training preferred

Preferred Experience

  1. Specific knowledge of Siebel applications preferred
  2. Working knowledge of installation processes, including but not limited to pre-installation requirement and construction (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) (5-8 Yrs)

Skills

  1. Must have strong project management skills.
  2. Ability to research and understand City, State, and Federal construction or building codes preferred
  3. Ability to read and understand blueprints
  4. Working knowledge of installation processes, including but not limited to pre-installation requirement and construction (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)

 Pay range for this opportunity is $25.96 - $36.35.This position is eligible for bonus.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
