Position Summary:
The Senior Applications Analyst is responsible for helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. This individual will provide technical expertise, and produce specifications for any gaps in the application, interfaces and data conversions. The Senior Applications Analyst will continually grow knowledge of supported technology and product areas to have a clear understanding of current / future technology requirements of a business partner. This person will maintain and support IT applications, work with offshore resources to develop programs, and apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving. Additionally, the Senior Applications Analyst will prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups as well as provide any ad hoc activities related to the projects.
Note: This position is onsite for the Des Plaines and/or Chicago IL office location of STERIS for at least 2 to 3 days.
What You'll do as a Senior Applications Analyst:
Project Leadership and Management
- Provide liaison between business teams and development team.
- Serve as business analyst and project lead on technical projects based on the business plan.
- Create and submit proposals, and implement approved project plans.
- Develops and submits budget proposals and funding requests.
Design, Develop and Configure Systems
- Researches, evaluates and recommends software, hardware and cloud technologies.
- Performs testing and evaluation, including development lab activities for new technology solutions.
- Interfaces with software vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware and software.
- Designs, configures and implements departmental I.T. technology systems.
Technical Support, System Administration and Maintenance
- Maintain standardization and documentation of technology and processes.
- Develops and implements training plans to support applications as required.
- Provide technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
- Provide escalation support for System Administrators.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field required. 8+ years related experience accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree
- 5 years of experience with SAP Modules (SD, WMS, MM, QM)
- 2 full cycle SAP implementations or migration projects
- 3+ years of experience in project management
- Experience working with ASAP project delivery methodology
- Experience with Transportation Mgmt Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and CRM integration
- Experience with SAP Cloud Connector and Salesforce a plus.
