Position Summary

This position will be primarily responsible for Industrial Engineering activities in support of the STERIS/HuFriedy Group Assembly and Distribution department but could also include support of other Manufacturing sites within the Dental division.   

Duties

1.    Collect and analyze statistical data for volatility and standard deviation norms in relation to productivity performance, capabilities, production load charts, etc.*
2.    Improve means of material handling and storage to increase throughput and ergonomics - simple vs. tech*
3.    Conduct time studies, develop cost analysis, develop/implement, and maintain standard work documentation*
4.    Identify, initiate, lead, participate and provide training required to effectively complete continuous improvement efforts tied to safety, quality, delivery, and cost*
5.    Recommend capital equipment additions and develop appropriate justifications. Effectively manage the implementation and commissioning of such additions.*
6.    Support operations team in reviewing KPI misses to determine root cause and support development and execution of countermeasures
7.    Assist in layout design and department moves
8.    Draft and design layout for equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency of staff and facility utilization*
9.    Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and equipment
10.  Design the overall process flow and conceptual layout for future *
11.  Develop value stream mapping for process flows, identify opportunities to reduce/eliminate non-value-add activity/time, and initiate continuous improvement strategies.*
12.  Support the manufacturing engineering team in the development and execution of process validations, process capability studies, and PFMEAs.
13.  Other duties as assigned.
 

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

1    Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
2    2-5 years of related engineering experience.
3    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4    Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes and standards
5    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
6    Troubleshooting expertise and attention to detail
