We are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager- Software Development. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at a skilled professional level.

A software development manager is responsible for the direct line management of software team leaders, and the effective management and success of the software development teams that report to those team leaders. The key activities include coordinating, prioritising, and the planning of SynergyTrak features with the teams and the QA and BA managers and reporting the progress and status of those items and releases to the Director of Solutions. The IT manager helps provide the teams with relevant tools, a positive and constructive working environment, personal support, guidance, and recognition for accomplishments.

What is involved

• Provides line management duties of software team leaders
• Plans and coordinate software releases with other managers and the roadmap owners, based upon the feature estimates from the teams.
• Provide developers with equipment, tools, and a safe positive working environment.
• Provide emotional support for team leaders and developers when required.
• Resolve conflicts between developers.
• Provide technical guidance and a different perspective for decision making when required.
• Provide updates to senior management regarding the progression and status of features and releases.

Education Degree

Required Experience

3 years of experience for each of the following:

• Must have experience of managing at least one team of developers
• Must have proven experience of working constructively with other stakeholders and development teams.
• Must have a positive demeanour,
• Experience of successfully managing a complex project with multiple components.
• Must have a track record of meeting deadlines.
• Must be a good communicator.
• Had experience of conflict resolution.
• Experience of conducting performance reviews, managing objectives and the career development of others.
• Experience of working with an external stakeholder.

Skills

• Teamwork. Excellent teamwork skills are required as this role is all about blending different teams and people together to successfully deliver new software features.
• Delivers and Executes results. Releasing software to a published schedule is a key part of this role.
• Communication. Excellent communication skills are required to keep all stakeholders informed, particularly when customer requirements change and interruptions happen.
• Initiative/Leadership. This is a leadership position so the ability to use initiative and demonstrate calm leadership when under pressure is very important
