Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure and Operations – EMEA & APAC you will be responsible for managing an EMEA/APAC based organization which could consist of sub departments.  You will be responsible for operational initiatives and works with regional/global IT leadership for long-term strategic decisions Responsible to build a strong, talented team to implement solutions and maintain business operations. Also, develop a culture geared towards delivery to the customer, this role needs to look at business/operational processes and gear towards automation and reducing waste.

You will be managing multiple projects by providing direction and being involved with design, plan and implementation whilst managing and prioritizing infrastructure support incidents and requests. Additionally, this position will be responsible to recommend and approve software, hardware or cloud technologies that will meet the overall global STERIS strategy.

Interaction with different business groups is vital within this role and requires an understanding of multiple business segments and I.T.’s impact on their functions. 

Professionalism and cooperation when working with Customers, team members and management is essential.


Develops and maintains IT strategy and ensure they align consistently with the overall STERIS strategy. 

Manages EMEA/APAC based reports in both a direct and indirect matrix-based organization. 

Recommends and approves software and hardware technology which support Microsoft centric solution (e.g. Microsoft platforms, VMWare, Citrix, Servers, Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers), data storage (SAN), telephony, local and wide area networking (LAN/WAN).

Strong working knowledge of CISCO network hardware, WiFi devices and supporting networks on a regional basis.

Working with global project management team to ensure existing projects are delivered, reported and meet the respective requirements/costs

Working with our facilities team to identify current projects and where required assign IT resources

Be an active member of the Cyber Security team and make sure the team(s) are participating in all aspects of the Zero Trust strategy

Responsible for coordinating communications to the business regarding projects, activities or support issues which will impact the end-user experience of the system or application.

Review and develop the team to ensure accountability, ownership and responsibility is maintained. 
When required, this role may need to deputise or be an escalation for the Service Desk Manager, therefore understanding the STERIS Global support model is critical.

Provide technical and procedural leadership to the infrastructure organization, helping them to deliver and be the best they can be. Part of this includes building a succession plan and guiding the team to succeed. 

Where required, you will be expected to travel to site and if required you will need to work with our team(s) to deliver the right solution minimizing issues/outages for our customers.

Responsible for maintaining LEAN IT initiatives to improve team efficiency. Also, developing the team in LEAN so that they work in a more “value add” way.

Create and submit proposals and implement approved project plans.

Develops and submits budget proposals and capital project funding requests

Required Experience

1.    People management – the ability to manage people in this role is critical. You will need technical awareness and ability to talk/make decisions at a high level. However, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring the team are focused, well managed and delivering. 
2.    Regional/Global Footprint – The team is distributed across many of our sites, you need experience in managing “disparate” teams and how do you get them all engaged and delivering.

3.    Change Management – ensuring you and your respective team(s) follow the defined Global Change Management program

4.    Meeting Attendance – Ensure the team(s) are attending meetings, cameras are switched on and they are engaging with the rest of the team. 

5.    Prioritisation – Where required, you will need to ensure if the business requirement demands resourcing pulling those resources back into the office to ensure we deliver

6.    Cyber Security – The team(s) need to be aware that security is everyone’s responsibility. This role must help the Director, Infrastructure & Operations to drive the Cyber Security/Zero Trust strategy.
