Financial Reporting Manager

Position Summary

The Financial Report Manager can be based out of either our Derby or Basingstoke offices.

The Financial Reporting Manager is a critical role, reporting directly into the Finance Director EMEA – North Territory. The role is responsible for the preparation of the statutory financial statements under FRS102 for the UK operating entities within the EMEA North Territory (‘the territory’), together with the coordination of the associated audits and also assisting with month end activities, the review of regional results/internal reports and the coordination of SOX requirements and related control issues.

The role acts in close collaboration with the central EMEA HQ Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury, and with STERIS US Corporation.

The role is critical to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the external and internal reporting for the territory.

This position will also act as a technical resource to ensure compliance with FRS 102 and STERIS accounting and financial policies.

Duties

Prepare the statutory financial statements under FRS 102 for the majority of the UK entities, including the coordination of disclosure items and tax calculations.

Coordinate the audit process and liaise with the auditors regarding outstanding information and resolution of issues.

Review the financial statements and coordinate inputs from EMEA team, finance staff and auditors as required.

Liaise with the preparers of the financial statements of the other UK entities to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with FRS 102.

Complete the iXBRL for all entities as required.

Provide technical guidance and support on new transactions and new/revised standards.

Assist with the SOX procedures and accounting entries required for the defined benefit pensions schemes under UK and US GAAP.

Assist with the collation and coordination of SOX documentation and audits throughout the territory.

Assist with the processes and procedures in place to ensure compliance with STERIS policy such as the gathering and quality review of 035 reports.

Support territory level projects such as continuous improvement and transformation projects.

Perform other related duties and special projects as required.v

Required Experience

Preparation of financial statements demonstrating up-to-date technical knowledge

Experience in an accounting practice environment  ACA or ACCA qualified Chartered Accountant

Broad accounting experience demonstrating adaptability and application of technical knowledge

 

 

Preferred Experience

Qualified accountant with experience in preparing UK financial statements under FRS102

Technical Skills:

Strong technical accounting policy knowledge (FRS 102 / US GAAP)

Audit experience

Balance Sheet Controls & Reconciliation experience

Personal Competencies:

Strong team player, able to earn respect, maintain and build strong relationships across the territory, EMEA finance, tax & treasury team, with the USA HQ corporate staff and business management.

Operates confidently in a matrix environment.

Energy and motivation to drive multiple projects to conclusion with relentless execution

Strong communicator both written and oral

Initiative, shows a “can-do” attitude, able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise well

Understands the process and requirements of change management

Strong project management skills & well organised individual

Technology – ERP and planning and reporting systems knowledge and experience

Travel – would be required to participate in meetings

European language skills a bonus
