Position Summary

To cover a period of maternity leave we are hiring for a Financial Accountant to join us for a fixed term period of 15 months.

The Accountant is responsible for Accounting and Financial Analysis, as directed by the Finance Manager, with particular focus on Assets, Creditors and Intercompany accounting requirements.

The role may encompass responsibility for accounting associated with more than one company location/groups.

Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract 

Duties

Monthly accounting - Assists in the month end close accounting in relation to Assets, Creditors and Intercompany, and other areas as required.

Assists with monthly P&L reviews as required, potentially including revenue recognition, margins and opex, and preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations, including on Blackline for these accounting categories.  
 
Fixed Asset Accounting - Fixed Asset accounting, reporting, monitoring and forecasting.
 Government Financial Reporting - Responsible for preparation and submission of VAT returns for assigned companies (groups/locations).

Preparation and submission of EC Despatches and EC Sales for assigned companies, and PAYE compilation.

PSA preparation and submission.

P11d preparation and submission.
 Audit and Statutory Accounts - Audit tasks, documentation, liaison with external auditors, and contributing to the generation of Statutory Accounts.
 Ad hoc duties as required – May include Cash Flow Forecasting.

Required Experience

Qualified accountant, with substantial experience within a Finance team.
Strong accounting and analysis skills and understanding.
Analytical, thorough, detailed and able to get to the root of a problem.
Proven ability for motivation, and commitment, organization, and working with limited supervision.
Proven ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience within a Manufacturing / factory environment preferred but not essential
