Position Summary

The Chief Architect leads the Healthcare Digital Solutions Architecture team. Together they are responsible for guiding the technical architecture of the digital ecosystem and delivery platform.

Builds a successful team to deliver thought leadership and consultation on the design, development, and delivery of software solutions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, development teams, and technology suppliers to provide a thing.

Takes a holistic approach to the Healthcare Digital Solutions strategy, the Chief Architect is accountable for delivering resilient, scalable, and highly available software platforms to meet the scope and ambitions.

Understands and interpret requirements, both functional and non-functional. Responsible for the fitment of technology, patterns, and platforms for the business problem, identifying gaps, and suggesting solutions. Acts as an advocate for best practices around architecture, design, and development. Oversight of the completeness and fitness-for-purpose of the architecture.

Interaction with different business groups is vital within this role and requires an understanding of business processes, compliance, and regulations. Professionalism and cooperation when working with Customers, team members, and management are essential.

Duties

  1. Manage the Healthcare Digital Solutions Architecture team.
  2. Guide team efforts towards successful consultation on the architecture, configuration, and implementation of technical solutions. Embrace challenges with a positive outlook, take accountability for ensuring consensus and harmony. 
  3. Provide capability leadership through coaching and mentorship. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. 
  4. Take responsibility for the planning and execution of the effective delivery of solutions, working with cross-functional colleagues to ensure successful delivery. 
  5. Maintain high standards of quality within the team by establishing and promoting good practices and habits. 
  6. Collaborate with peers in Digital Consultancy, Solution Development and Product Security to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web, desktop and mobile applications built on industry-leading technologies. 
  7. Be the voice of the Architecture team; monitor and communicate progress across stakeholder groups. Celebrate success, identify, and remove barriers, maintain focus on delivering consistent value.
  8. Lead specific digital initiatives, utilise your team, external suppliers and liaise with the rest of the Healthcare Digital Solutions organisation to ensure successful execution of the objectives.
  9. Form the Senior Director of Digital Consultancy's leadership team.
  10. Sit on and contribute to the Digital Technical Steering Group.

Required Experience

  1. Typically has 10 to 15 years of software engineering work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments.
  2. At least 10-years of mentoring teams responsible for software development, working with a broad range of diverse and complicated solutions.
  3. 10-years overseeing software engineering in regulated environments.
  4. 10-years working in an AGILE or SCRUM software development methodology
  5. Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-grade software.
  6. Well-versed in software development disciplines and principles with a keen sense of when to choose the right tool(s) for the job.
  7. Ability to visualise, own, and execute the delivery of software solutions from initial conception to collaborating with peers on implementation and deployment.
  8. Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories.
  9. Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
  10. Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders.
  11. Ability to deliver solid designs on a tight deadline.
  12. Comfortable with an iterative development process that includes accepting and managing feedback and constructive criticism.
