Position Summary

The Desktop Technician is skilled in all areas of the front-line IT customer support and performs administration activities including creating, and supporting network accounts, computer accounts, application accounts, email accounts, and group memberships.  This includes configuring and deploying desktop hardware and software, network printers, and mobile devices as well as maintaining inventories and purchasing of desktop hardware and software. 

This role is also responsible for providing technical support to the Service Desk Analysts and provides overflow phone support when needed. This also includes providing desk side computer support at the local facility and/or remote computer support to USA and Global facility and home-based users. 

Desktop Technicians also participate in the training of Service Desk Analysts on standard configurations and IT procedures, including onboarding. Professionalism and cooperation when working with customers, team members and management is essential to the success of this role. 
 

What You'll Do


End User Administration – 55%
•    Creates and supports network accounts, computer accounts, email accounts, application accounts, and group memberships in accordance with IT policies and procedures relating to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley).
•    Configures and deploys desktop hardware and software, network printers and mobile devices
•    Maintains inventories and purchases desktop hardware and software as well as processing software and hardware requests
•    Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
 
End User Support – 40%
•    Provide overflow support & second level support to the Service Desk Analyst
•    Provides desk side & computer support & training for end user problems and requests for facility, remote, and home-based users

Project Management - 5%
•    Lead team projects as well as coordinate project implementations and deployment timelines.
•    Develops and submits budget proposals and funding requests.

Required Experience

Required Experience
•    2 year degree in Information Technology or equivalent on the job training is required
•    3+ years’ experience 
•    System and application support for Microsoft client platforms required. 
•    System support for client hardware platforms, Dell, HP, Lenovo. Dell preferred.
•    Familiarity with System administration of Active Directory is preferred.
•    Experience in application/system technologies. Microsoft, Dell, McAfee, Citrix and Checkpoint preferred.
•    Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
•    Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
