Position Summary
As a Repair Technician III you will perform surgical instrument and device inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a lab based setting. You will delivers superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards in a production facility as part of a high performing team. You will use standardized, varied, and complex testing procedures; examines and tests mechanisms for defects. Recommends advanced repair solutions to technicians based on expertise of repairs in the product category
What you will do as Repair Technician III
- Services, restores and repairs surgical devices/instruments and equipment to specifications.
- Identifies problems within the job role and uses standardized and varied testing procedures; examines and tests mechanisms for defects.
- Replaces or repairs defective parts.
- Reassembles surgical devices or equipment and tests assembly for conformance to specifications.
- Orders routine repair parts.
- Request parts from stock room. Trouble-shoots in area of surgical device/instrument responsibility of role.
- Participates in the development of setting standard work instruction (SWI’s).
- Participates in repair to inform validation of work instruction.
- Conforms and abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures.
- Uses personal protective equipment, as required.
- Completes Safety observations per site requirements.
- Conducts Safety audits.
- May perform inventory transactions in current role.
- May perform estimation of repair, as necessary.
- May train other technicians in On-The-Job Training programs.
- Conforms to Company ISO goals and objectives and supports ISO requirements.
- Completes workplace (5S) organization audits per site requirements and leads the Metrics Board Meetings that focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC). Job Description 2
- Support Engineering team as required to provide feedback on repair trends & improvement recommendations.
The experience, skills, and abilities needed
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years experience in maintenance, assembly, or related aptitude, 3 years experience in surgical device or instruments required. (related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement.)
- Successful in achieving Technician II training and promotional requirements
- Demonstrated advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross functional team
- Ability to train employees on new repair skills for surgical devices and/or instruments.
- Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours including nights and weekends, based on Customer and business needs.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times
Preferred
- Vocational / Technical Degree preferred.
- Certifications in technical training preferred.
- Good eye to hand coordination.
- Ability to assemble small parts.
- Attention to detail.
- Displays Positive Attitude and Confidence.
- Ability to understand repair concepts and follow sequencing or repairs.
- Advanced in role based on the Skills Matrix.
- Demonstrates ability to determine correct spare parts required to complete a repair. If parts are controlled by inventory numbers, the technician knows and understands parts requisition procedures necessary for repairs in role and the role of others.
- This position has knowledge to perform transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Demonstrates advanced proficiency of standardized Metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC).
- Utilizes advanced technical knowledge in solving complex problems to optimize metrics.
- Demonstrates awareness of costs and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Has learned role and is often leading processes such as creation of some standardized work instructions (SWI’s), estimation, inventory/requisition, Safety, Quality,
- Delivery and Cost (SQDC) Metric Meetings.
- Informal experiential leading of others when Team Leader is not available.

Pay range for this opportunity is $26.05 - $33.72. [ACTION REQUIRED - REMOVE IF NOT APPLICABLE:] This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
