Position Summary

Responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in Extrusion process’s.  This position will assist the Extrusion Process Engineer in developing validated Extrusion processes. Conducts testing and troubleshooting on internal and external complaints to identify root cause. Assist in the development of protocols and reports to perform validation and qualification testing on Extrusion machines including downstream equipment.  Work with statistical programs to perform analysis on processes.

Duties

  • Monitors and corrects efficiencies of processes.
  • Perform die changes
  • Trouble shoots process and machine issues and repairs/corrects findings.
  • Support DOE’s, Validations when required.
  • Sets-up dies for production including changing tools when required.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and updates all related documentation.
  • Ensures proper safety and company policies/guidelines
  • Ensure schedule attainment, cycle times monitoring and OEE daily Tracking.
  • Responsible of good documentation practices adherence and compliance audits.
  • Able to write SOP’s, and controlled Forms and Documents to ensure regulatory compliance for Extrusion Dept.

  • Specify and recommend improvements to the tooling/die design to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensures proper safety and company policies/guidelines
  • Set up and operate testing equipment to validate product and processes.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with applicable department.
  • Ensure Cleaning and Work in 6S tasks (organize, clean area)
  • Participate in LEAN and Continuous Improvement events
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Education Degree

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  •  A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Extrusion setup, process development, and troubleshooting required.  
  • One year experience with equipment maintenance for extrusion machine, auxiliary and automated equipment is desirable.  
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Extrusion process development. 
  • Technical experience troubleshooting extrusion equipment and process issues required.
  • Experience with setting up dies and processes for extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • AA degree, Technical Degree or Equivalent Experience. Must be strongly detail oriented.
  • Ability to communicate well (written and verbal in the English language) and work independently at times to accomplish goals in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work with several areas in the company to source needed materials and information to support Extrusion and Automation
  • Must exhibit the characteristics of integrity, diligence, and loyalty. Must be timely in the completion of tasks and communicate well at all organization levels. 
  • Understanding of Lean concepts and the ability to demonstrate everyday incremental improvements within job scope. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work in a team environment; high customer empathy and desire to enthusiastically serve. #ZRKJ
