Position Summary

The Product Manager – Mobile Solutions is responsible for all day-to-day product responsibilities of the mobile solutions business unit.  Currently, this includes the Mobile Sterile Processing Department and Rapid Mobile SPD with expansion as determined by senior management of responsibilities for Mobile Surgery and Mobile Endoscopy. The Product Manager will be responsible for product development and build management, market development, marketing communications, construction development/operations, and product training related to the Modular Construction Line, including Modular Sterile Processing Departments and Offsite Reprocessing Centers. Significant interaction with internal and external company resources.  Requires the ability to solve complex situations involving internal business process development, intradepartmental collaboration, Customer satisfaction, and tactical business decisions. This role will require up to 70% nationwide overnight travel. 

Duties

  • Provide day to day operational oversight of the product line.
  • Manage day to day business operations including lease orders in Oracle, shipping of consumables, brochures, parts, PM kits, start-up kits to field, and support field technicians with issue resolution.
  • Maintain pipeline reports on fleet activity and availability.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support to the business unit.
  • Perform product demonstrations to internal and external Customers.
  • Create and manage all capital requests for submittal to STERIS senior management to build new products.
  • In conjunction with management, assist in the development of core positioning and messaging for the product line.
  • Manage serial number creation and movement with fleet.
  • Maintain fleet schedules, PM, DOT/tags/registration, HVAC/HEPA, etc.
  • Manage new build capital equipment order process.
  • Hold weekly calls with supplier to manage fleet and new build process.
  • Manage unit drawing packages, site preparation guides, facility requirements, utility guides, winterization procedures, etc.
  • Manage the fleet upgrade process and schedule.
  • Manage unit trunk stock.
  • Work with Customer Service regarding unit location guide.
  • Work with unit manufacturer to setup and maintain onsite build quality inspections during build phases.
  • Utilizing lean principles, lead strategic and operational initiatives through execution and user training.
  • Manage Customer purchase orders and upload legal agreements in Oracle to generate Customer invoices.
  • Work with the Senior Manager to create and maintain Customer addendums to legal agreements and purchase orders as needed

  • Requires deep understanding of a mobile unit features, functions and capabilities.
  • Attend industry trade shows as required.
  • Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
  • Address any issues, problems and changes with any of the products associated with the Mobile Units.
  • Work with suppliers on new builds, commissioning, decommissioning and field support of mobile units.
  • Coordinate marketing activities with Marketing Communications as well as work with finance and sales to create and maintain pricing and SKUs in Oracle and Sales Connection.
  • Operational leadership and ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide issue resolution for external and/or internal Customers.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  1. Minimum 7 -10 years general business experience with 6-8 years' experience with emphasis on construction development/operations, continuous improvement, and a minimum of 3 years customer service experience
  2. 3-5 years STERIS experience preferred with knowledge of STERIS systems and processes
  3. Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation, analytical and project management skills
  4. High degree of technical aptitude with significant multi-tasking capability
  5. Demonstrated leadership qualities and interpersonal skills, with track record of successfully motivating cross functional teams
  6. Excellent oral, written and presentation communications skills
  7. Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and on-line presentation tools

Skills

  1. Proven track record of successful project management including 3+ years of cross functional management
  2. Ability to assist in the design of the Mobile Solutions product strategy and roadmap
  3. Understanding of the medical industry, hospital operations and perioperative process flow
  4. Able to read and interpret arichtectural plans in Autocad or BIM format.  This includes but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, power, and information technology.
  5. Demonstrates continued developmental skills necessary to create project plans and formulate recommendations
  6. Operational leadership and ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  7. Deep understanding of a mobile unit features, functions and capabilitie.  Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  8. Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance and support to the business unit
  9. Ability to perform product demos to internal and external Customers
  10. Demonstrates ability to provide issue resolution for external and/or internal Customers.
  11. Capable of identifying information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and take a logical, systematic, sequential approach to situation resolution
  12. Demonstrates comfort with ambiguity, anticipates the implications and consequences of situations and takes appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies
  13. Ability to develop, sponsor, and/or support the introduction of new and improved methods, procedures, technologies or products
  14. Assist in the development of the core positioning and messaging for the product line
  15. Financial acumen and capability to monitor costs and pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals

 Pay range for this opportunity is $91,250.00 - $127,575.00.This position is eligible for bonus.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
