Position Summary

A Senior Software Engineer has sufficient experience (typically over 5 years) to write software without technical supervision. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features, ensure application performance, and mentor junior engineers. A Senior Software Engineer has a strong background in software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying current with industry trends and technologies. They require little day to day management, and their experience allows them to undertake pieces of work, break them down into achievable plannable pieces that may be worked on independently or by others. A Senior Software Engineer has a solid understanding of C#, SQL, MVC, WPF and modern software construction techniques and principles. 

What You'll do as a Senior Software Engineer

  • Write and update software unassisted, using the latest tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical guidance on software matters to other members of the team.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Actively manage work item priorities, minimizing risk and ensuring new features are delivered on time.
  • Be an advocate of writing high quality software, promoting good working practices and not ignoring problems, or issues.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality.
  • Actively demonstrates soft skills, fostering a positive work culture.
  • Being a positive role model for the rest of the team.
  • Work professionally with other disciplines, managing stakeholders e.g. QA & BA teams
  • Reliable, hardworking work ethic

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, e.g., C#, .net, SQL.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Pay range for this opportunity is $105,400.00 - $136,400.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
