Position Summary

As the Senior HR Generalist you will work in conjunction with our Senior HR Partner of the business group. This role supports our Instrument Management Services team located at two sites in Chicago, IL. This role will be the local, onsite HR support for the business group. The Senior HR Generalist partners with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR support and solutions. 

What You Will Do

  • Recruiting – full lifecycle support.  May partner with central recruiting team to guide selection process with assigned areas.
  • Employee Relations/Performance  Management – Consult/coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs.  Directly handle ER issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions. 
  • Support HR leadership team – HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and champion HR initiatives.
  • Training – HR orientation, and  facilitate other HR training sessions as needed.
  • No direct reports, but will delegate tasks to others and oversee performance of HR support team.

What You Will Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Admin, Behavioral Sciences, or Org Development.
  • Degree requirement may be waived if actively working towards degree and/or with substantial related HR work experience.
  • 4-6 year experience with Bachelors in HR, Business Admin, Behavioral Sciences, Org Development. Prefer Masters/MBA, PHR.
  • 3 years of experience must include recruiting, ER, performance management, succession planning, and training and development.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.


Qualifications That Can Set You Apart

  • Prefer Masters/MBA 
  • Prefer HR certifications in recognized HR tools or development programs (MBTI, DDI, PHR, etc).
