Position Summary
The Director of Product Development will lead the global Healthcare Digital Solutions Development team. This team delivers excellence in modern, connected, digital software solutions for STERIS Customers. You will be accountable for planning and executing the effective development, verification and deployment of solutions across the Healthcare Digital Solutions portfolio, delivering healthcare software solutions that transform the surgical supply chain. You will be managing remote teams located primarily in the U.S. and the U.K. that is responsible for new product development of software solutions being sold to STERIS customers.
*This is a fully remote position. Qualified candidates must currently reside in the Continental U.S. Location preference is within Eastern or Central time zones due to global team management.
What You'll do as a Director, Product Development
- Guide team development efforts towards successful parallel project delivery. Embrace challenges with a positive outlook, take responsibility for ensuring consensus and harmony
- Provide technical leadership through coaching and mentorship. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
- Maintain high standards of software quality and validation within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Collaborate with peers in Digital Consultancy and Product Security to plan, design, develop, test and maintain web, desktop and mobile applications building industry leading solutions
- Take accountability for planning and executing the effective deployment of solutions, working with cross-functional colleagues to ensure successful delivery
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on budget
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree required
- 10+ years of software engineering work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments
- 3 years of experience managing teams responsible for software development for a broad range of diverse and complicated solutions
- 5 years experience in software engineering of web technologies in a regulated environment
- 5 years AGILE or SCRUM software development methodology
- Experience with on prem Microsoft .Net software technologies
- Extensive experience designing and developing revenue generating, enterprise grade software products
Preferred:
- Management of fully remote teams
- Experience with healthcare software development and/or cloud technologies
- Well-versed in software development disciplines and principles
Other:
- Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes; excellent collaborative skills
- Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

Pay range for this opportunity is $114,500.00 - $171,675.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
