Position Summary:

As the Business Development Manager, you are accountable for maximizing collaborative sales results by leading, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of joint sales between SPM and other Commercial teams. You will take action to understand the essential components of the SPM product and to identify areas of overlapping interest with other Commercial teams. From this, you will identify additional products, services, and programs to drive competitive differentiation and collaborative selling. The work extends to operationalizing products and programs, training all Commercial associates, and to coordinate work with GPOs, Health Systems, and key accounts to anticipate and overcome obstacles to success while coordinating efforts and resources to achieve designated sales targets while assuring the profitability and expense are within budgets. You will identify and maintain relationships with key Customers, professionals, and internal/external partners to optimize Customer expertise and collaboration capabilities. Additionally, you will partner with all internal stakeholders to evaluate the Customer facing challenges, monitor the current changes in the Healthcare Market, and assure that market trends/challenges/opportunities are incorporated into all aspects of the strategy. You are also responsible for executing programs to achieve objectives for market share growth, and recommending alternate distribution opportunities where appropriate. You will assist in the development of sales goals, monitor results achieved, and initiate actions to achieve the attainment of established objectives. Accountability measures include bookings, revenue, profit, and Customer retention. This position is home-based; you can work from anywhere in the continental U.S..

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, implement, and manage SPM-based collaborative selling program working across all Commercial teams
  • Provide leadership and direction in all joint sales opportunities towards meeting established goals and meet Customers’ needs
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with internal support functions of the organization by consistently sharing information, responsibilities, decision-making, and recognition with others in support of the common purpose – customer satisfaction
  • Prepare and plan sales forecasting, objectives, and sales territory objectives for each account manager
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sales tools and methods to ensure training processes results in quick and efficient readiness
  • Grow recurring revenue to meet or exceed plan objectives through establish and maintain relationships with key Customers and contracted Business Partners
  • Facilitate the development and expansion of the region’s business by developing and nurturing strategic relationships and associations in the healthcare industry
  • Monitor and report market trends to appropriate STERIS employees and implement appropriate region sales and marketing strategies to capitalize on all opportunities
  • Drive and support SPM sales team collaboration within all aspects of Commercial Ops - Americas
  • Other assigned duties

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree

What You Need to be Successful:

  • 5+  years of sales leadership/ business development, or business strategy/ operations experience with progressively increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to sell conceptually in healthcare environments
  • Specific experience with/ awareness of asset management software sales to SPD teams
  • Demonstrated experience selling to SPD, OR and other clinical and financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success selling products and services with a demonstrable ROI component
  • Track record of successful sales leadership
  • Strong people leadership experience with the ability to lead, motivate and influence a team of sales consultants and/or sales leaders
  • Established and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain key Customer relationships
  • Strong ability to influence others, develop partnerships, close sales, and work in a collaborative manner
  • Strong sales mentality with proven track record of growing, managing and maintaining a book of business
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategy with an emphasis on effectively working collaboratively with other commercial teams and implementing a plan to meet strategic objectives through leading a team of sales professionals
  • Professional level written and oral communication skills
  • Strong and effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
