Position Summary

Manages the repair operations of Assembly and Molding Department.  Plans and executes budget, systems, people and processes for assigned product categories.  Accountable for meeting product category goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Employee Engagement (SQDCE) and/or turnaround.  Coaches and develops team.  Fosters a spirit of empowered work teams and unity among department members to effectively identify and implement continuous improvement measures.  Partners with Customer Care, Sales Teams, and Product Managers to effectively respond to customer’s questions or technical concerns that may arise within an account. Works collaboratively with other internal areas on new product development, enhancements to existing product and new customer requirements.  In physical locations, typically directs and manages single department/supervisor in their product category.  Supports and Implements Lean efforts. 

  1. Plans and executes repair operations, people, systems, and processes to meet Operations goals and objectives. 
  2. Directs and manages the assembly and molding department, supervisor and team members in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators such as Turn Around Time (TAT), Safety, Quality, Costs and Employee Engagement.  Ensures accurate performance reporting. 
  3. Manages budget with a focus on product repair costs, labor hours per unit, and margins. 
  4. Ensures capabilities, standards, and methodologies for repairs, are developed, maintained, and executed consistently. 
  5. Manages utilization of equipment, work area, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.
  6. Ensures resolution of technical, product, process, and quality failures.  Designates required resources to resolve production difficulties and/or limitations.  Strives to improve operational performance based on learnings. 
  7. Frequently interact with subordinate supervisors.  May interact with Customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions.
  8. Collaborates with inventory and purchasing teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels and components are maintained. 
  9. Assesses team’s skills and ensures appropriate development plans.  Makes sure individual team members understand career path. 
  10. Directs team training efforts to ensure supervisors, and technician team members are appropriated trained. 
  11. Collaborates in the identification of new product/repair capabilities through the monitoring of no-repair situations, outsourcing lab volumes, market trends and new technologies.
  12. Works closely with other internal areas to drive product capability development and operational process standards.

  1. Interviews potential new hires, and successfully on-boards to the company.   
  2. Performance Manages the team and seeks coaching opportunities
  3. Works collaboratively with the Contract and Pricing team to assist in the development of repair categories and pricing structures, and product repair estimations.
  4. Supports and provides technical training for accounts and product managers in areas of expertise.
  5. Delivers formal presentations in educational seminars and customer site visits.
  6. Ensures conformance to ISO goals and objectives and supports ISO requirements
  7. Champions company’s lean philosophy of continuous improvement and deploys staff/team to complete repair orders to meet Customer service requirements.
  8. Makes sure safety and health policies and procedures are followed.
Education Degree
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
  1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field
  2. 2-4 years of management experience in operations, manufacturing, service environment in a leadership position. 
  3. Strong People Management skills. 
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Customer service in a business environment.
  5. Ability to collaborate with other internal areas to identify and assist with revenue opportunities. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage a budget, control inventory, and analyze/utilize metric data to ensure production and profitability targets are met.
  7. Ability to gather and analyze data, propose solutions and develop action plans to address.
  8. Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft applications, intranet, and reporting tools.
  9. Understands risks of working in a highly regulated industry. 
  10. Excellent Communication skills, including verbal, listening, written and training presentation.
