Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for developing crucial analytical and data solutions to internal stakeholders and external customers alike. The core purpose of the role is to provide STERIS and our Customers, the data assets needed to quantify business performance and make strategic decisions, aggregating data from multiple sources into an efficient reporting mechanism through database/data warehouse design and development and report and dashboard design, using appropriate tools.

Duties

Datawarehouse development and maintenance, including data modeling

Extract Transform Load (ETL)/Extract Load Transform (ELT) data pipeline development and maintenance

Report development

Programming (in a data/business intelligence context)

Troubleshooting BI tools, systems and software; performance-tune applications as necessary

Testing and documenting all new or modified BI systems, applications and programs

Required Experience

Comprehensive data warehouse analysis experience.

Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.

Strong skills in coding, troubleshooting, debugging and relational and dimensional data modelling.

Data pipeline development (ETL/ELT).

Proven T-SQL development skills (Microsoft SQL Server 2016+).

Strong statistical background.

Preferred Experience

Ability to understand a customer's business needs and translate needs into IT specific requirements.

Proficient in data analysis, defect identifications and resolutions.

Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with little supervision and within changing priorities.

Ability to analyze requirements and troubleshoot problems.
