Position Summary

Provides on-site support for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and related devices and equipment to contracted facilities in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, DNV and AORN standards and facilities goals and policies.

Duties

  1. Cleans, disinfects, or calibrates scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer instructions for use (IFU) and facility standards.
  2. Operates all mechanical machinery within the department such as, but not limited to, Automatic Reprocessing Machines (AER) and Flushing Machine within endoscope processing.
  3. Learns and trains in all assigned areas, such as, but not limited to decontamination, clean area, and storage area processes aligned with IPS professional standards and regulations.
  4. Maintains inventory of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
  5. Performs safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
  6. Understands and promotes concepts of the Lean work environment.
  7. Communicates in a professional manner to all hospital staff and company employees.
  8. Refers all decisions beyond personal scope of responsibility to their Managers and/or STERIS leadership if necessary.
  9. Participates in in-services and educational offerings provided by STERIS in the facility.
  10. Responds and supports requests made by STERIS leadership or Customer with ensuring requested scopes are prioritized and available for Customer needs.
  11. Uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
  12. Report’s repair needs and/or machine failures.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required
  2. 0-1+ years of sterile processing experience with scope experience, endoscopy, or transferrable experience required.
  3. Must obtain Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 6 months of hire.
    1. Must maintain certification by completing Continuing Education Credit Hours (CEU’s) in accordance with renewal schedule.
  1. Must be able to pass the Customer’s background and medical standards for credentialing purposes.

Pay range for this opportunity is $21.45 - $27.76. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
