Position Summary

The Scientific Analyst I supports execution of protocols, executes, documents and analyzes assigned multiple Laboratory tests in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques and Customer specifications. 

Duties

  1. Analyzes test results from multiple Laboratory testing areas, reports findings or conclusions and interpretation of data to scientists and management.  35 – 40%
  2. Initiates test result investigations for root cause, reports findings and implements corrections as assigned. 10 -20%
  3. Evaluates procedures and provides process improvement suggestions through execution of Document Change Order (DCO) procedure. 10 – 20%
  4. Assists in trending results for the Laboratory and Customers. 10 – 15%
  5. Supports the execution of study protocols or validations, both internal and external. 10 – 15%
  6. Reviews and approves Laboratory methods as technical designee. 5 – 10 %
  7. Supports the qualification of new testing and methods. <5%
  8. Reads, interprets and records results of testing as requested. <5%

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Science

Required Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Laboratory

Preferred Experience

1-year experience authoring DCOs preferred.

Skills

  1. Must have a demonstrated understanding of test method validations.
  2. Must have strong knowledge of the standards requirements. 
  3. Must have extensive knowledge of laboratory testing.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  6. Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
  7. Ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.
  8. Intermediate math skills.
  9. Ability to work well with others.
