Position Summary

The Laboratory Manager manages laboratory operations and personnel including Customer communications, scheduling, testing, analysis, trending of timeliness and accuracy of processing to ensure Customer satisfaction and compliance. 


  • Manages DET Laboratory processes to ensure quality and efficient sample processing.
  • Manages and mentors staff in planning, scheduling and monitoring of Laboratory operations.
  • Provides technical expertise as needed. 
  • Assesses work flow patterns and implements methods to ensure efficient and effective use of equipment and facility space.
  • Ensures DET  Laboratory has required resources. 
  • Ensures staff training.
  • Ensures evaluation of improvements to existing procedures.

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in a Laboratory or medical device industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Experience

Skills/Business Competencies

  • Knowledge and understanding of 21CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO/EIC 17025 standards.
  • Must understand standard aseptic techniques and common laboratory equipment use.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Experience in delivering excellent Customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations and personnel.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
  • High level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated high level decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
