Position Summary

The Laboratory Technician III is responsible for executing and analyzing microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques, approved procedures and Customer specifications. 

Duties

  1. Executes Laboratory tests (eg. Bioburden, Sterility, LAL Endotoxin, Microbial Limits, Anti-Microbial Effectiveness, Organism Identification, EO Residual, cleaning qualifications, and test method validations) in compliance with regulations and procedures. 65%
  2. Creates/ edits Customer specific preparatory methods for approval. 10%
  3. Reads, interprets and records results of testing. 10%
  4. Participates in investigations as needed. 0 - 5%
  5. Participates in the development, and review of methods and Standard Operating Procedures. 5%
  6. May train Technician staff on testing processes 0 – 5%
  7. Other Duties as Assigned

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology

Required Experience

  1. Minimum 9 years experience in a Laboratory with a HS Diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum 7 years experience in a Laboratory with an AA degree
  3. Minimum 1 year experience in a Laboratory with a Bachelor’s degree
  4. Fully qualified on specific testing
  5. Knowledge of microbes such as bacteria, mold and yeast; or knowledge of chemical assays and equipment.
  6. Knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use and some troubleshooting.
  7. Ability to perform technical document preparation.
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  10. Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
  11. Ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.
  12. Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals and dilution schemes.
  13. Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs.
  14. Ability to work well with others.
