Position Summary

 

The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for executing assigned microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques, approved procedures and Customer specifications.

 

Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm

Pay range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience 

What You Will Do As a Laboratory Technician II

 

  1. Prepares and executes Laboratory tests (eg. Bioburden, Sterility, LAL Endotoxin, Microbial Limits, Anti-Microbial Effectiveness, Organism Identification, EO Residual, cleaning qualifications, and test method validations) in compliance with regulations and procedures. Testing may be performed in a cleanroom.    80%
  2. Creates/ edits Customer specific preparatory methods for approval. 10%
  3. Participates in the development, and review of methods and Standard Operating Procedures. 5%
  4. Maintains inventory for specified area 5%
  5. Other Duties as Assigned

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

 

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a Laboratory with a HS Diploma or equivalent, or no experience with an Associate's Degree
  • Knowledge of microbes such as bacteria, mold and yeast; or knowledge of chemical assays and equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use.
  • Ability to perform technical document preparation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
  • Ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals and dilution schemes.
  • Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Pay rate for this opportunity is $20.00 to $24.00 an hour, depending on experience and skillset. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
