Position Summary

The Laboratory Team Lead in Gen Mico provides leadership to Gen Micro staff ensuring the coordination of testing schedules, demonstrating, instructing and reviewing work instructions, testing protocols, and safety precautions for designated employees.


Responsibilities of Lab Team Lead – Gen Micro:

  1. Monitor status of all testing
  2. Coordinate day-to-day execution of testing and prompt reporting/communication of results
  3. Notify Management/QA/Customer promptly of OOS results
  4. Monitor cleaning/calibration of area equipment and spaces-Communicate issues to Calibration/Maintenance/Tech Support Promptly
  5. Train or facilitate training of trainees
  6. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement
  7. Lead small group meetings, record daily status and report to main meeting
  8. Lead group discussions to develop countermeasures- implement and monitor countermeasures
  9. Monitor media and supply inventories
  10. Routine testing of products/Result interpretation/Report Generation to ensure deadlines are met
  11. Identify gaps or challenges with work instructions – work with Supervisor/Team to DCO work instructions or source needed equipment/tools
  12. Feedback on team when requested
  13. Technical reviews on documentation (Process Descriptions, Dilution schemes, etc…)
  14. Other duties as assigned

Education Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology

Required Experience

Minimum 4 year degree plus 1 year experience in Gen Micro required.

1. Demonstrated ability to provide training and support to Laboratory staff.

2. Must have knowledge of common laboratory techniques and equipment.

3. Good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Minimum Intermediate level on Microsoft Word and Excel.

5. Ability to work under control in pressure situations and manage change.

6. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.

7. Math skills, including fractions and decimals.

8. Ability to work well with others.
