This individual contributor role will partner with the Labs Director and leadership team to drive the strategic vision of the business as it aligns with HR initiatives and programs focusing on Talent Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement and day-to-day HR functions.  This role provides HR leadership, consultation, and advocacy supporting approx. 150 employees based in Brooklyn Park, MN and will support two other Labs in Libertyville, IL and El Paso, TX
 

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting / onsite position in Brooklyn Park, MN. Note this is the primary office location.
  • 25% Travel to two other lab locations: Libertyville, IL and EL Paso, TX.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with business and/or functional leaders in areas such as organizational assessment, organizational structure, workforce planning, and change management to strengthen overall organizational capability.
  • Ensure alignment of HR processes ( i.e. performance management, compensation, leadership and employee development, etc.) with business operating goals.
  • Leads the Talent Assessment (succession and individual development planning) function for the business segment, including driving the execution of action plans and ensures leaders and employees use available tools to have meaningful performance alignment, results attainment and feedback discussions.
  • Partner with managers in assessing and identifying resources to meet employee/departmental training needs and encouragement of employees to continuously develop their skills in their field of work.
  • Assist in the hiring of new employees by performing various recruiting activities in partnership with the talent acquisition team, including staffing coordination and job requisition management.
  • Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations.
  • Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through promotion of a positive company culture while balancing employee concerns with all levels of company goals.

 

What You Will Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in either Human Resources or a business-related field required
  • 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources generalist experience within manufacturing/distribution environment or supporting one or several business groups.
  • Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands-on exposure to the full mix of HR functions (preferably in a large, complex corporate environment)
  • Participation in a Lean culture a plus.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or similar HRIS preferred, leveraging an employee and manager self-service model.
