Position Summary

As a Senior Professional Consultant, Instrument Processing, you’ll lead the charge in optimizing sterile processing, surgical support, and endoscopy departments by conducting comprehensive operational assessments, delivering actionable insights, and implementing processes that drive measurable improvements.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our customers, identifying process enhancement opportunities and aligning them with our innovative service offerings. Internally, you’ll empower our sales teams with subject matter expertise, delivering impactful education on our products and services. Your involvement in contract and proposal development ensures that STERIS consistently delivers high-quality, customized solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations. In this role, you'll be expected to travel nationwide up to 75%. 

What you'll do as a Senior Professional Consultant:

  • Conduct strategic and operational assessments in sterile processing, surgical support, and endoscopy departments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and best practices in Sterile Processing Departments. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting sales teams, helping drive product line growth and customer engagement.
  • Research competitors and deliver ongoing market intelligence to sales and leadership teams.
  • Execute business strategies in collaboration with the Reprocessing SPD sales division and leadership.
  • Ensure operational systems, processes, and policies are optimized for division growth.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by developing compelling content, case studies, and presentations that highlight competitive advantages.
  • Analyze sales data to align sales and operations with market demands.
  • Advise leadership during contract negotiations, ensuring financially sound and customer-aligned agreements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead process improvement initiatives based on data insights.
  • Provide expert training and implementation support in contracted facilities, demonstrating deep knowledge of OR and SPD workflows.
  • Lead and contribute to high-impact, value-driven projects across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including JCAHO, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN guidelines.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in healthcare or tertiary care hospital settings, or High School diploma and 12+ years of relevant experience. Masters degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sterile Processing process improvement.
  • At least 4 years in a leadership or consulting role within Sterile Processing.

Pay range for this opportunity is $93,000 - $130,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
