Position Summary

The Senior HR Generalist will partner with managers and employees at various levels to provide HR guidelines on a broad range of HR programs and initiatives in support of business objectives.  In partnership with the senior HR partner for the business division and business leadership, you will implement solutions to address recruiting, talent management, development, training, employee engagement, compensation and total rewards, and HR compliance matters.  

What You Will Do

  • Oversee recruiting activity for the business group, typically working with internal Talent Acquisition Partners or external recruiters.  Focused on ensuring talent acquisition needs are well defined, resources and processes are in place to meet objectives, and participates in the selection process to help select the right candidates.  Provides guidance to managers so new hires are onboarded effectively.
  • Consults with business to address compensation matters. Assists managers in developing accurate and concise job descriptions, defining skill, knowledge and competency requirements for roles.  Partners with Compensation team to perform market analysis.  Implement compensation or total reward programs across employee groups, to include effective communications.
  • Supports change management efforts to foster adoption of HR or business changes.
  • Responsible for handling employee relations.  Directly handle employee relations issues, conduct investigations and recommend solutions.  Will develop and implement programs to foster positive employee relations.  Supports the business in the annual employee engagement survey and action planning process.  
  • Consult with and coach managers as they handle performance issues and talent development needs.  Supports succession planning and employee development plan creation.
  • Support HR business partner in developing customized programs to meet business needs.  Conducts HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and champions global HR initiatives.
  • Conducts employee orientations, and  facilitate other HR training sessions as needed.  Facilitates new leader assimilations and focus group meetings.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelors Degree plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in HR required.  Experience demonstrates progression of HR generalist responsibilities.  Degree requirement may be waived if actively working towards degree and/or a minimum of 6 years of substantial relevant HR work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience must include recruiting, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.
  • HR Certifications in recognized HR tools or development programs preferred (PHR, MBTI, DDI, etc).
