Position Summary

The role of the Ready Consultant is multifaceted: the primary role is to build and maintain the Customer relationship during each mobile repair visit, the secondary is to act as the lead repair technician on mobile instrument repair trucks, and the tertiary role is to work in tandem in with sales representative to generate and develop revenue opportunities in new and existing accounts.  The Ready Consultant is a leadership role within the company as they direct the repair flow on each mobile truck and acts as quality control for each repair performed.  The person in this role is paired up with a dedicated Repair Technician on a mobile vehicle.  The incumbent supervises the work of the Technician to ensure work is completed to Customer expectations.  The Ready Consultantis expected to coach, train and mentor the Technician.

*This position will require heavy travel; up to 75%*

  • Manages Customer repair agreements to ensure all trays are serviced as determined by contract.
  • Identifies additional revenue opportunities while at Customer location.
  • Manages, trains and develops repair technicians while on mobile instrument repair trucks.
  • Performs quality control for all repairs completed on truck.
  • Develops/presents PowerPoint summaries to Customer and management of repair services completed.
  • Provide Customer training on care and handling of instruments.
  • May perform repairs depending on Customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate others.
  • Mastered skills of instrument repair, including knowing how to reverse engineer an instrument in order to repair it.  Understands risks of working in our highly regulated industry and when not to repair an instrument.
  • Knowledgeable about surgical instruments, types of surgery and how instruments are used in surgery.
  • Customer focused – ability to communicate with customers, understand their needs, meet their objectives and resolve any issues or problems (conflict management skills). 
  • Self motivated; ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to monitor numerous projects and prioritize workloads.
  • Able to make significant decisions with short term impact with little to no supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software
Education Degree
  • High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Communications/Education/Business preferred.
  • Vocational/Technical education in Mechanical or Electrical preferred and 3 to 5 years experience in lieu of degree.
  • 0 to 3 years Management Experience preferred.
  • Previous sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Surgical Technician experience or experience working is a Central Sterile Department
  • Alternatively, experience working in a medical instrument/device instrument very desirable.
  • Requires valid driver's license and any other certification(s) or license(s) required by applicable state(s) 
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Must be  at least 21 years old to meet the FMCSA age requirement for commercial interstate driving
