Our Healthcare Customers are federally mandated (by Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services or CMS) requiring vendors to have the COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption. There are select Customers who do not accept any exceptions. Unvaccinated Associates may be excluded from working at a Customer site, require routine testing with an approved exemption (if accepted by the Customer) or have limited Customer access impacting their ability to remain employed. Additionally, we may be required to meet state mandates on COVID-19 vaccination, exemptions and/or booster requirements. This position is a Customer-facing role that falls under a state or CMS mandate.
Position Summary
The STERIS Professional Services Intern role will Support STERIS Instrument Processing and STERIS IPT Capital, and STERIS Endoscopy teams through subject matter expert consulting alongside a Principal Consultant. This role will provide support through strategic and operational consulting assessments and process improvement projects while improving Customer and/or internal operations, developing and supporting the transition of Customers to offsite or centralized external options, and developing brand loyalty to STERIS while maintaining a neutral presence. This Internship may travel extensively to Customer locations nationwide.

- Location - The role can be based anywhere in the United States. This will be a blended onsite and work from home opportunity; overnight travel required.
Duties
This role will focus on Customer strategic solutions planning. It develops a solutions portfolio based on onsite evaluations and remote team-based analysis of the customer current state. The portfolio may include recommendations for improvements aligned with process and performance, lean production, compliance, and quality. The role works directly in partnership with hospital leadership to develop these strategies and ensure a customized solutions-based package.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree, currently pursuing Master’s degree
- Working experience with all Microsoft programs, knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software. Ability to learn Oracle or other systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Operating Room processes and protocols, and medical/surgical instruments strongly preferred
