Position Summary

As an HR Generalist you will partner with People Leaders and Associates at various levels to provide consultation and implementation of a broad range of HR programs and initiatives in support of business objectives. You will collaborate with HR specialists (COEs) and coordinate efforts across all regions with the other HR partners focused on supporting the Device Repair teams. Your primary areas of focus will be delivering services in the areas of recruiting, talent management, development, training, employee engagement, compensation and total rewards, HR data quality, analysis, and HR compliance matters.

 

This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Birmingham, AL location 3 days a week.

What You'll do as an HR Generalist

  • Serve as an HR Business partner for multiple departments. Support and align efforts with HR Manager and HR Director in developing HR programs to meet business needs. Responsible for maintaining highly confidential data and supporting HR function programs and communications.
  • Conduct HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and champion global HR initiatives. Support and help to develop change management efforts to foster adoption of HR or business changes.
  • Oversee recruiting activity for business group, working with Talent Acquisition Partners from the COE or external recruiters. Focus on ensuring talent acquisition needs are well defined, resources and processes are in place to meet objectives, and participate in the selection process to help identify ideal candidates. Provide guidance to managers so new hires are onboarded effectively.
  • With direction from COE or Sr. HR Director and HR Manager you will administer compensation changes related to promotions, market evaluations, or organization changes. Assist managers in developing accurate and consise job descriptions, defining skill, knowledge and competency requirements for roles. Partner with compensation COE to perform market analysis. Support implementation of compensation changes or total reward programs across employee groups, to include providing effective communications.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management practices and talent development actions. Support succession planning and employee development plan creation.
  • Responsible for providing guidance on employee relations and/or conflict resolution interventions. Directly conduct investigations and recommend solutions. Develop and implement programs to foster positive employee relations. Support the business in the annual employee engagement survey and action planning process. 
  • Conduct employee orientations, new leader assimilations, focus groups, employee engagement sessions, and facilitate other HR training sessions as needed. 
  • No direct reports, but will lead or participate on projects and delegate tasks to others. 

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

 
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, behavioral sciences, business adminstration, or similar field. 
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant HR experience.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in recruiting, staffing, or employee relations.

 

Preferred:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

 

Other:

  • Working knowledge of employment law, AAP, performance management practices, and employee relations practices.
  • Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.

Pay range for this opportunity is $66,000- $83,212. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
