Position Summary

Overall operational responsibility for directing the operations, growth and ongoing development of the Instrument Processing Contract Services including Management Plus and Minimally Invasive business. Instrument Processing businesses.   Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the business operations.


  • Overall responsibility for the development and execution of short and long term objectives, budgets, forecasts, policies, and operations of the Instrument Processing Contract Services including Management Plus and Minimally Invasive business. 
  • Provide leadership to to a growing business with customers and employees across North America.
  • Develop and execute policy and procedures for IP Contract Services.
  • Orchestrate, direct, develop, and coordinate IP Contract Services management and staff team.
  • Collaborative involvement with all IP directors building strategy with current interim Customers to move to a longer term solution.
  • Ensure coordination of detailed Customer assessments to properly align contract deliverables to Customer expectations.
  • Responsible for contract preparation and revision in partnership with Finance, Sales and Operations.
  • Reviews and modifies contracts to ensure relevance to assessments, customer needs and deliverables while managing the financials to the Proforma.
  • Develop operational and related requirements for new contract agreements in close coordination with the Vice President of Instrument Processing.
  • Develop, track and manage KPI (Key Performance Indicators) for all IP Contract Services.
  • Manage expectations and communications with all IP Contract Services customers.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all contracted facilities departments, as necessary and within contractual guidelines, to ensure effective, efficient support to the patient caregivers as it relates to the scope of the agreement – increased level of instrument readiness.
  • Oversee the hiring and retention of best qualified managers and team members. 
  • Ensure JCAHO / Audit Compliance at all facilities.
  • With Vice President of IP and other members of the management team, develop and execute the Contract Services business strategy and plan.
  • Ensure P&L goals achieved.
  • Ensure communication processes and infrastructure is in place and followed.
  • Business travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree highly preferred.  MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or field service organizations.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
  • Experience working across a complex organizational matrix.
  • A track record of positive results and an ability to show how his/her contributions have contributed to the growth and bottom line profitability of an organization while enhancing or driving cultural change.
  • Business Competencies:
  • Self-motivated; bias for action.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, priority setting capabilities.
  • Must possess exceptional managerial, analytical, organizational, and financial acumen.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and employee selection are very important attributes
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • Must be able to analyze and resolve complex business issues involving financial and human resources as well as properly allocate staff to achieve business objectives.
