Position Summary
- When surgical instruments are sharpened and working properly, surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients. STERIS offers a variety of repair solutions to meet the needs of the Customer, including repair lab services.
- In this position, you will drive a STERIS van and transport surgical instruments between our Halethorpe, MD repair lab and various hospital Customers throughout the Baltimore area. This will include loading and unloading instruments to shelves and maintaining accurate counts of inventory.
- This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle, which you will have the option to keep at home. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process.
- Please Note: The schedule for this full-time position is Monday - Friday, from approximately 6:30am to 3pm. To support and service our customers in this assigned territory, candidates must be able to begin and end each workday at our Halethorpe lab location.
What You Will Do as a Driver
- Drive a company sprinter van, transporting surgical instruments and related items to and from customer hospitals.
- Load and unload the van at client hospitals, picking up and delivering surgical instruments and related items.
- Maintain accurate inventory and other documentation.
- Provide friendly and professional service to our customers at each hospital, acting as the primary face of our repair lab and ensuring customer needs are met.
- Be responsible for all pre-trip safety inspections and keep van clean. Must adhere to Company DOT Program policies and procedures when applicable.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one (1) year of verifiable customer service experience is required
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required)
- Must be able to maintain safe driving record.
- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds
- Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements, including maintaining required vaccines
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, coworkers, and management
- Must be detail-oriented and able to keep accurate documentation
- Must be able to read and understand applicable Standard Operating Procedures
Pay range for this opportunity is $18.00 - 21.00.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
